Each animal that lives in the Savanna has special characteristics.
The African Wild Dog has to have plenty of water to survive in the Tropical Grasslands. During the winter months they migrate somewhere to get plenty of water. When summer returns they return to the Savannas.
The Black Mamba is a snake. Snakes, like the Black Mamba, like to have very open and low spaces to build their habitat. The open space is also easier for the Mamba to move around.
African Elephants are herbivores. They feed on the different grasses, plants, leaves, shrubs, and vines. The Tropical Grasslands have all of the types of foods the African Elephants likes.
The Chacma Baboon Likes the open space to live in. It also makes it easier for them to see their predators coming, so they have time to find a tree and climb it.
The Grant's Zebra has a very special characteristic. The black and white stripes help to confuse their predators. If the zebra spots a predator they will bunch together to defend themselves.
The Egytian Mongoose helps to kill the snakes in the area. Which helps to protect the other animals that are a predator to the snake.
The Nile Crocodile spends most of its time in the water, where it is camouflage.
